In these narratives, the barbarians often represent these seeds; whilst on the one hand they are wild and critical of civilisation, on the other they are usually, without realising it, in the process of bringing a new form of civilisation into the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA pacifist approach is rather alien to them, for when enough is enough, enough is enough – and that may well be enforced by force of arms. However, they reject sadism, unjust systems of rule and senseless cruelty, and that, I believe, is the civilised core of their being.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI think you’ll get the most enjoyment out of this game if you develop your barbarians along these lines… it might be worth reading through a few ancient stories to help with that…\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis game is, of course, not intended to fuel any fascist notions about barbarians.
