There’s a church in the depths of the salt plains. A forgotten temple, consecrated to a benevolent and righteous god. It was desecrated by an arrogant and ruthless king. The blood of the faithful dyed his steel red. The god shed his tears over the valley, transforming it into a wasteland of salt and misery. Before fading from the memory of men, the god cursed the defiler to become a hated and repulsive being that would poison and corrode everything he touched, imprisoning him with only his crown to remind him of all he had lost.
People call him The Cantigaster.
And everyone knows his story.

Wonderful quality and well produced, if you get the chance to buy any of Tania's work in the future do so with confidence!
Crown of Salt is an impressive and superbly well crafted expansion to the Mörk Borg universe. I interpret this as an adventure book, which means you will need the core rules to play. (Available on the Mörk Borg website as text only, but check out the actual book if you want the full experience).
The book has a well thought out setting, with a consistent and oppressive feel, unique and interesting encounters and twists, including a few mechanics which is great for a GM to help keep the party on track. The adventure also features a few incredible concepts and well written characters, which are easy to understand and formatted in the traditional MB way.
While reading through the book the only thing I spotted that seemed out of place was a misspelling or misprint under the Oddities Section where the word 'Roll' was printed as 'Rol'. Where as this is not something one should expect with any printed product that I buy, it should not happen it is jarring for me to see in an otherwise stunning book. But do not let that subtract from the presentation, the innovation or the frankly fantastic finish of the book. The artwork and the material, page quality and cover are of exceptional quality and the theming is sure to stand out on the bookshelf.
In summary, this book is worth it for any one even remotely interested in Mörk Borg, its extended universe and the art. The Crown of Salt is a well written adventure that can be replayed with different results, heavy on the theming and atmosphere, with lethal and quirky rules bordering balancing between brutality and hilarity, yet they are easy to understand and implement. I wholeheartedly recommend Crown of Salt.
Thanks to the Pit Trap Shop for the wonderful product and fast delivery and communication) Crown of Salt is a gloomy story and the illustrations from Tania Herrero incredibly convey the atmosphere of the game. It's impossible to break away from this work, or rather from art, and not fall in love with this beautiful and dark world🙌
illustrations are amazing, evocative, and pair really well with the writing; the setting and lore building are really eerie and i loved the feeling of reading a story while preparing the game - i cannot wait for my players to experience this tale!
